Narrative:Qualifications: 12 years teaching experience in public and private schools in Belmont. Certification in Wilson Reading System, with tutoring experience in Steps 1-12. Profile: I am a mother of three with a private tutoring studio in my Belmont home but I am also willing to travel within a 20 mile radius. Before I began tutoring privately, I worked as executive assistant to Lorna Kaufman, former president of the New England branch of the International Dyslexia Association. She became my mentor and my supervisor in training in the Wilson Reading System. I have now taught at all levels in the Wilson program, and the results have been truly inspiring. It is my goal to help children at risk achieve success in reading and writing as early as possible. The private tutoring I offer is for students of all ages with language-based learning disabilities. I use Wilson materials and methodology to support students in: * Decoding (reading) and encoding (writing) * Reading fluency * Reading comprehension * Spelling * Written expression * Reading assessments Related Hobbies and Interests: Music and foreign language
