Projects With Industry (PWI) can help your clients find work.

PWI is a federal grant program funded by the US Department of Education and Rehabilitation Services Administration that aims to create and expand employment opportunities for individuals with disabilities.  Every PWI Client will be assigned to an individual Employment Specialist who provides job placement assistance building:

  • career counseling
  • resume/cover letter rewrites/advice
  • practice interviews
  • job leads
  • access to library
  • client phone line for job messages
  • work with CORI issues
  • follow up support for up to a year
  • on-site CVS Learning Center
  • customer service training
  • phone line with answering machine for clients with no phone access.

Many people that have what the government considers a disability do not classify themselves as disabled, but are nevertheless eligible for programs that serve people with disabilities.  This includes indviduals in residential treatment for substance abuse.

A person can be determined eligible for services from PWI by meeting just one (or more) of the requirements:

  • receipient of SSI or SSDI
  • Letter from Doctor, Psychiatrist, or Certified Drug and Alcohol Counselor that states the individual in question has disability that affects their ability to function, take care of themselves or work
  • being a current or past client of the Massachusetts Rehabilitation Commission

Eligibility/Criteria/Enrollment: See description above

Fees: No information.
