The Massachusetts Network of Information Providers for People with Disabilities (MNIP), coordinated by New England INDEX, is a collaborative effort of 130 nonprofit agencies in Massachusetts. Network members disseminate disability-specific information and make referrals to the public for free. Consumer contact with any of the members provides access to the expertise of the entire network.

Institute for Community Inclusion (UCEDD)

ICI , a University Center for Excellence for Developmental Disabilities (UCEDD), is at the University of Massachusetts Boston & Children's Hospital in Boston.

ICI offers training-, clinical-, and employment-services; conducts research; and provides assistance to organizations to promote inclusion of people with disabilities in school-, work- and community activities.

ICI's Mission: The Institute for Community Inclusion supports the rights of children and adults with disabilities to participate in all aspects of the community. As practitioners, researchers and teachers, ICI forms partnerships with individuals, families and communities. ICI advocates for personal choice; self-determination; and social- and economic-justice.

  • employing people with disabilities in community settings
  • supporting children and young adults with special health care needs
  • accessing general education and transition from school- to adult-life
  • expanding local recreation and school activities to include people with disabilities
  • promoting technology that aids participation in school/community/work activities
